Product Overview

Ethylene Glycol, most commonly known as Monoethylene Glycol (MEG), is a clear, colorless, and virtually odorless syrupy liquid with a sweet taste. It is completely miscible with water and many organic solvents. MEG is a foundational petrochemical building block, dominating the global production of polyester fibers, PET resins, and engine coolants.

At Shandong Yinglang Chemical Co., Ltd., established in 2016, we maintain a robust and stable supply chain for bulk Ethylene Glycol. Catering to large-scale industrial buyers globally, we ensure competitive factory-direct pricing, strictly verified high purity, and highly efficient ocean logistics using drums, IBCs, or Flexitanks.

Technical Specifications (COA)

Below are the typical specifications for our premium Industrial Grade MEG:

Purity (MEG Content) ≥ 99.8%
Diethylene Glycol (DEG) ≤ 0.08%
Water Content (Moisture) ≤ 0.10%
Color (Pt-Co) ≤ 10
Acidity (as Acetic Acid) ≤ 0.001%

Key Applications

  • Polyester Fibers & PET Resins: The single largest consumer of MEG. It reacts with PTA to produce polyethylene terephthalate (PET), used globally for making textile fibers, clothing, and clear plastic beverage bottles.
  • Antifreeze & Coolants: Acts as a highly effective freezing point depressant. It is the primary active ingredient in automotive engine coolants, de-icing fluids for aircraft, and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Heat Transfer Fluids: Used in geothermal heating/cooling systems and industrial chillers due to its excellent thermal capacity.
  • Chemical Intermediates: Serves as a solvent, a dehydrating agent for natural gas pipelines, and a raw material for synthesizing plastics and synthetic waxes.

Packaging & Bulk Shipping

As a non-hazardous general cargo for sea freight, we offer flexible bulk packaging solutions to maximize your cost-efficiency:

  • 230 KG Galvanized Iron Drums or HDPE Drums.
  • 1000 KG IBC Totes (Ideal for medium-sized manufacturers).
  • 22 - 24 MT Flexitanks (Highly recommended for maximum volume per 20' container and lowest freight cost per ton).

ℹ️ Safety & Handling Information

Transport: Classified as Non-Dangerous Goods (General Cargo) for ocean transport. No DG certificate is required.

Health Warning: While non-flammable and non-corrosive, MEG is harmful or fatal if swallowed. Its sweet taste can attract animals and children. Ingestion can cause severe kidney damage and central nervous system depression. Keep containers tightly closed and store in a dry, ventilated area. Operators should wear standard industrial PPE.

FAQ

Q1: What documents and certifications do you provide?

A Standard shipment includes COA (Certificate of Analysis) and MSDS (SDS). We also provide ISO 9001 certification and support third-party inspections like SGS or BV upon request.

Q2: Do you provide custom synthesis or formulation services?

A Yes. If you have specific purity requirements or a unique formulation, our R&D team can provide custom synthesis and adjust the stabilizers/inhibitors to meet your technical specifications.

Q3: What are your terms of payment?

A For Orders ≤ $1,000: 100% in advance.
For Orders > $1,000: 30% T/T in advance, and the balance before shipment or against the copy of B/L. Irrevocable L/C at sight is also acceptable for bulk orders.

Q4: How long is your price valid?

A Chemical prices fluctuate due to the changes in raw material costs and exchange rates. Please contact our sales team for the latest real-time quotation.

Q5: What packaging and shipping ports are available?

A We normally ship from Qingdao, Shanghai, or Ningbo.
Standard packaging includes 200kg Drums or 1000kg IBC Totes. We ensure strict safety compliance for both general and hazardous chemical cargoes.

Q6: It's my first time importing chemicals — can you help?

A Absolutely. Importing chemicals requires specific documentation. Our experienced logistics team will assist you with the entire process, including handling customs clearance documents and arranging the most suitable shipping method.
