CAS 143-19-3 Sodium oleate
Overview
Sodium oleate (sodium octadec-9-enoate; CAS 143-19-1; C₁₈H₃₃O₂Na, 304.44 g/mol) is an anionic fatty-acid soap surfactant used as an emulsifier, wetting/penetrating agent, dispersant, and foaming aid across bar soaps and cleansers, creams/lotions, textile and leather processing, emulsion polymerization/latex systems, pigment/slurry dispersion, metalworking fluids, and mineral flotation of oxide ores. Supplied as off-white flakes/powder/pastilles or concentrated paste, it dissolves readily in hot water and alcohol–water systems (limited in cold water; insoluble in non-polar hydrocarbons) and performs best at alkaline pH;
Product Description
CAS 143-19-3 Sodium oleate
Product Characteristics — Sodium Oleate (CAS 143-19-1): An anionic C18:1 fatty-acid soap providing strong emulsification, wetting/penetration, dispersion, and foam stabilization for O/W systems and emulsion-polymerization/latex uses; readily soluble in hot water and alcohol–water (limited in cold water; insoluble in non-polar hydrocarbons); optimal at alkaline pH (~8–10); compatible with nonionic/amphoteric surfactants but incompatible with cationics;
