Phosphoric Acid 85% | Food & Industrial Grade
Product Overview
Phosphoric Acid (Orthophosphoric Acid) is a clear, colorless, and odorless viscous liquid. As a highly versatile inorganic acid, it plays an indispensable role across the global food & beverage, agriculture, and surface treatment industries. We supply standard 85% concentration in both Food Grade (high purity, low heavy metals) and Technical/Industrial Grade.
At Shandong Yinglang Chemical Co., Ltd., established in 2016, we maintain robust production and packaging lines for corrosive liquids. With our deep expertise in handling Class 8 Dangerous Goods, we ensure that your bulk Phosphoric Acid orders are securely packed in UN-approved drums or IBC totes and delivered safely to your port.
Technical Specifications (COA)
Below are the typical specifications for our 85% Food Grade Phosphoric Acid, which strictly complies with international food safety standards:
| Assay (as H3PO4) | ≥ 85.0% |
|---|---|
| Color (APHA) | ≤ 20 |
| Arsenic (As) | ≤ 0.00005% (0.5 ppm) |
| Heavy Metals (as Pb) | ≤ 0.0005% (5 ppm) |

Key Applications
- Food & Beverage (Food Grade): Widely used as a highly effective acidulant, pH regulator, and flavoring agent in cola beverages, jams, jellies, and cheeses. It provides a sharp, tart flavor.
- Metal Surface Treatment: Acts as an excellent rust converter and etching agent. It cleans and treats steel surfaces (phosphating) to prevent corrosion and improve paint adhesion.
- Water Treatment: Used in municipal and industrial water treatment facilities to control pH levels and inhibit pipe corrosion.
- Agriculture & Fertilizers: A crucial raw material in the formulation of high-quality liquid foliar fertilizers and NPK blends.
Packaging Options
Given its corrosive nature, we utilize premium high-density polyethylene (HDPE) packaging to ensure zero leakage during long-haul sea transit:
- 35 KG / 330 KG UN-approved Blue HDPE Drums.
- 1600 KG / 1650 KG IBC Totes (Highly recommended for maximum loading efficiency and forklift handling).
- ISO Tanks available for massive bulk procurement.
⚠️ Safety & Transport Information (Class 8 DG)
- Transport Classification: Classified as Class 8 (Corrosive Liquid).
- UN Number: UN 1805 | Packing Group: III
- Handling Precautions: Causes severe skin burns and eye damage. May be corrosive to metals. Operators MUST wear acid-resistant PPE (gloves, face shields, aprons) when handling. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
