Product Overview

Vinyltrimethoxysilane (VTMO), commonly referred to as A-171, is a clear, colorless, and highly reactive bifunctional organosilane. Possessing both a reactive vinyl group and hydrolyzable methoxysilyl groups, it acts as a perfect molecular bridge between organic polymers and inorganic substrates. It is globally recognized as the premier crosslinking agent for manufacturing advanced wire and cable insulation, and as a highly efficient moisture scavenger in the sealants industry.

At Shandong Yinglang Chemical Co., Ltd., established in 2016, we supply bulk volumes of High-Purity VTMO (≥ 99.0%) to the world's leading cable compound manufacturers and adhesive formulators. Operating strictly under Class 3 Dangerous Goods protocols, our VTMO is packaged under absolute dry, Nitrogen-blanketed conditions to prevent premature hydrolysis, ensuring pristine reactivity and extended shelf life for your downstream products.

Technical Specifications (COA)

For efficient XLPE grafting and sealant stability, high purity and strict moisture exclusion are mandatory. Typical specifications:

Purity (VTMO) ≥ 99.0%
Color (Pt-Co) ≤ 20
Density (at 20°C) 0.960 - 0.980 g/cm³
Refractive Index (at 20°C) 1.390 - 1.400
Chlorides ≤ 10 ppm

Key Applications

  • XLPE Wire & Cable Compounds: The essential crosslinking monomer used in the silane-grafting of Polyethylene to produce Silane Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE/PEX) for heat-resistant EV and power cables.
  • Moisture Scavenger in Sealants: Absorbs unwanted trace moisture in polyurethane and silicone adhesives, preventing premature curing and drastically extending shelf life.
  • Adhesion Promoter: Added to coatings and inks to vastly improve the interfacial adhesion between organic resins and inorganic surfaces (like glass or steel).
  • Polymer Modification: Copolymerized to create moisture-curable polymers for specialized industrial coatings.

⚡ Empowering the EV & Power Grid Revolution

As the demand for High-Voltage EV charging cables and advanced power grids surges, the need for robust cable insulation is paramount. Yinglang Chemical’s VTMO enables the flawless two-step (Monosil) or one-step (Dry Silane) crosslinking of Polyethylene. Our high-purity silane ensures a higher gel content and perfectly homogeneous crosslinking networks, allowing your XLPE cables to withstand extreme temperatures, harsh chemicals, and severe mechanical stress.

Strict Moisture-Barrier DG Packaging Options

Because VTMO hydrolyzes instantly upon contact with ambient moisture to release methanol, we utilize strictly sealed packaging for global ocean transit:

  • 1000 KG IBC Totes with specialized moisture-barrier valves (Recommended for massive cable compound production).
  • 200 KG UN-approved Steel Drums, tightly sealed and strictly Nitrogen-blanketed.
  • ISO TANKS (20 MT) available for continuous, large-scale industrial procurement.

⚠️ Safety & Transport Information (Class 3 DG)

  • Transport Classification: Classified as Class 3 (Flammable Liquid).
  • UN Number: UN 1993 | Packing Group: III
  • Handling Precautions: FLAMMABLE LIQUID AND VAPOR. Reacts with moisture to release highly flammable/toxic Methanol. Handle in explosion-proof, completely dry systems. Store in a cool, well-ventilated DG facility away from water.

FAQ

Q1: What documents and certifications do you provide?

A Standard shipment includes COA (Certificate of Analysis) and MSDS (SDS). We also provide ISO 9001 certification and support third-party inspections like SGS or BV upon request.

Q2: Do you provide custom synthesis or formulation services?

A Yes. If you have specific purity requirements or a unique formulation, our R&D team can provide custom synthesis and adjust the stabilizers/inhibitors to meet your technical specifications.

Q3: What are your terms of payment?

A For Orders ≤ $1,000: 100% in advance.
For Orders > $1,000: 30% T/T in advance, and the balance before shipment or against the copy of B/L. Irrevocable L/C at sight is also acceptable for bulk orders.

Q4: How long is your price valid?

A Chemical prices fluctuate due to the changes in raw material costs and exchange rates. Please contact our sales team for the latest real-time quotation.

Q5: What packaging and shipping ports are available?

A We normally ship from Qingdao, Shanghai, or Ningbo.
Standard packaging includes 200kg Drums or 1000kg IBC Totes. We ensure strict safety compliance for both general and hazardous chemical cargoes.

Q6: It's my first time importing chemicals — can you help?

A Absolutely. Importing chemicals requires specific documentation. Our experienced logistics team will assist you with the entire process, including handling customs clearance documents and arranging the most suitable shipping method.
